Start from Bengaluru; Mysuru is about three hours by road, and the group travels home by train from Hosapete

  1. Day 1: Bengaluru to Mysuru

    Stop at Srirangapatna, Tipu Sultan’s island fort. Afternoon at Mysuru Palace; on Sunday evenings the palace is lit with nearly 100,000 bulbs.

  2. Day 2: Mysuru, then north

    Chamundi Hill and the Rail Museum in the morning. Overnight journey north to Hosapete, the town beside Hampi.

  3. Day 3: Temples of Hampi

    Virupaksha Temple, the stone chariot at Vittala Temple and its musical pillars, and sunset from Hemakuta Hill.

  4. Day 4: The royal centre and home

    The Lotus Mahal, the Elephant Stables and the Royal Enclosure, then the train home.
