  1. Day 1: Fort Kochi

The Chinese fishing nets, Mattancherry and a Kathakali show in the evening.

  2. Day 2: Up to Munnar

About four hours into the hills, past waterfalls and spice gardens. Tea country by afternoon.

  3. Day 3: Munnar

Eravikulam National Park for the Nilgiri tahr, the tea museum and a walk through the estates.

  4. Day 4: The backwaters

Down to Alappuzha and onto the houseboats: lunch on the water, a village walk and a night moored on the lake.

  5. Day 5: Marari and home

What we arrange

  • Flights and pickups for everyone
  • Hotels and houseboats, about ten guests a boat
  • One coach and driver for the whole trip
  • A link for each traveller to pay their share
  • Meals planned for vegetarians, children and elders

Make it yours

  • Add Thekkady for the Periyar reserve
  • Add Varkala for two more days by the sea
  • Swap the houseboat night for a lakeside resort

Good to know

  • The monsoon runs from June to August: green and cheaper, but wet.
  • Eravikulam usually closes in February and March for the tahr’s calving season.
